Roles & Responsibilities

General practice networks nationally are responsible for ensuring a focus on the GPNLG agenda on issues of national importance. General practice networks are thus responsible for:

  • raising issues for debate and discussion by the GPNLG that affect the Network nationally
  • reading and commenting on items for discussion and communiqués of the GPNLG, including ideas and solutions to national issues
  • ensuring GPNLG members receive current advice and feedback
  • disseminating outcomes via locally appropriate communications to relevant stakeholders, such as the Board and general practice.

The GPNLG members from SBOs are responsible for:

  • consulting and liaising with their members and stakeholders (eg general practice networks and local department of health personnel)
  • appropriately circulating relevant resources to their constituents
  • representing the views of their constituents
  • providing feedback regarding meeting outcomes and decisions to their members.

AGPN is responsible for bringing a national perspective to the GPNLG and will have the primary responsibility for relationships with the Australian Government in areas of national policy and issues that effect the Network as a whole.
